The New York Times
...Lawyers for the three victims also said the school district had been largely unresponsive since the attacks. School officials have not returned their phone calls, the lawyers said, and have not been forthcoming with information about their investigation into the assaults and the climate surrounding them.
''We have not heard from the school district,'' said Michael F. Rubin, a lawyer for two victims. ''They have not offered any apologies. They have not made any attempt to resolve this.''
After the assaults, the district removed the five football coaches from their positions, canceled the football season at Mepham and set up a committee to review policies on hazing, field trips and character education.
Robert P. Kelly, a lawyer for two students who were assaulted, said the boys began seeing psychiatrists after the assaults. One of the two has remained at Mepham, while the other has dropped in and out of classes there, Mr. Kelly said.
